In 2005 Rakett started the mini-biennial of out-door two-day filmscreening at Sørfinnset Skole/the nord land. Inspired by the long dark winter days in the North of Norway and the widespread culture of socializing inside private cars in the region at large, the setting was perfect for showing video art and feature films outdoors.
The Drive-in Cinema was held in conjunction with Activity Day and Saturday Café at Sørfinnset Skole, which had the theme: “Cod and seal”
The day included activities such as: Tasting of fresh cod. The catch, slaughter and cooking of a seal and presentation on how to make use of the seal fur. Special guest was Estelle Sandbugt from East Greenland. The lecture “The relationship between cod and seal in the ocean” was given by Ivar Pettersen, researcher at the Maritime studies, College University of Bodø.
The Kjør-inn-kino included artist videos from Bergen and Oslo, alongside feature films from Thailand, Finland and France.

About Sørfinnset skole / the nord land
is a non-profit artists initiative on invitation by Nordland County Council established in 2003 by Søssa Jørgensen, Geir Tore Holm, Kamin Lertchaiparsert and Rirkrit Tiravanija. The initiative was a part of Nordland County’s contemporary art project Artistic Interruptions curated by Per Gunnar Eeg-Tverbakk and located in the village of Sørfinnset in collaboration with Gildeskål Municipality and Sørfinnset Citizens Association.
Since 2003 a number of partners and artists have been involved in the long term dialogue project, stated to go on forever. In Thailand the land foundation in Chiang Mai is our permanent partner.
Funding of Sørfinnset skole/ the nord land is made from year to year and from project to project and by voluntary work.
Ecology becomes a way, you can balance a hyper complex totality with the help of respect and mutuality. An ecology does not mean conflict free harmony or painless totality, to act and live together includes always a conflict of interests and negotiations.
Boel Christensen-Scheel on Sørfinnset skole/ the nord land in Øjeblikket 47/ 2006.
Sørfinnset skole / the nord land focuses on dialogue, social engagement and experimental form of value and knowledge production with pedagogical and practical methods that amongst other are linking different traditions and experiences. Diverse understandings of ecology and direct involvement in nature at several levels have been investigated through seasonal activities, construction of buildings, concerts, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, excursions, hikes and parties.
In 2010 Sørfinnset skole/the nord land lost the main building for the activities and is now temporary located in different buildings in the village of Sørfinnset, amongst other the Chapel and Community House.
