Rakett hosted the archive Curating Degree Zero Archive which is an exploration of critical and experimental approaches to curating contemporary art.
During a period of three weeks, September 20th to October 13th, Rakett had the Curating Degree Zero Archive as their extended platform, and through it took part in a public discussion around the expanding field of art and curatorial collaborative practices.
Through a series of events the archive was activated with presentations, lectures, debates and concerts with invited international guests: artists, curators, musicians, philosophers and architects.
In collaboration with the architect Jon-Martin Kolnes a mobile unit was developed from where the archive and the events was presented on several locations within Bergen City.
Full program and about the events and participants:
Curating Degree Zero was launched to research, present and discuss changes in the practice of freelance curators, artist-curators, new-media curators and curatorial collaborations. Beginning in 1998 with a three-day symposium and an ensuing publication, the project now focuses on an expanding archive about these practices, which is touring as an exhibition, accompanied by a program of live events and discussions.
